The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Twenty-One

An Overrated Movie

So obviously with applictions and the interviews (and school starting) I have been slacking with my challenge. So I suppose I failed it! Oh well, I shall finish it all now.

This movie is way overrated. I think that for the most part it is a good movie but the "punk" kids have made it a big deal. If you have ever been to a HotTopic store, you understand. My most overrated movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas!

The Dreaded Phone Interview!! AHHH!!!

Let me start be saying "Oh My Lanta". That is my phrase to remain calm. Try it. "Oh'. (breathe) "My". (breathe) "Lanta". (relax) See dont you feel way better. I know, Im amazing for coming up with that! Anywho... the phone interview is not that bad. I had Ginger. She called at 9:31am. It was scheduled for 9:30am and she was right on time. So everyone always wants to know what they asked so here is what I studied for:

~Why oh Why questions!~
Why are you a good candidate for this program?
How will you provide good customer service?
Why do you want to do the CP at this point in my life?
What can you offer the company?

~Situational Questions!~

What is one way you can make a child’s day extra magical?

What can you learn from working at Disney?

Describe a time you had to work with a difficult situation.

Describe a memory of a past job.( or made a guest happy)
If you were doing a task that was repetitive, how would you make it exciting?

Describe a time you were not able to make a guest happy.

~Questions to ask the interviewer:~
Are there possibilities to move up within the company?

Are there opportunities to extend at the end?

How did Professional Internships work?

How long can I expect until I hear a decision?

Would you consider doing custodial or quick food and beverage?

~Questions about your Past!~
Are you familiar with the Disney Parks?

What is your favorite job from my past?

What were your past jobs?

Describe a memory of a past job.( or made a guest happy)

Do you have cash handling experience?

How do you handle with people from diverse backgrounds?

Describe a time you were not able to make a guest happy.

~Questions about You!~
Name 3 positive qualities about yourself.

Name 3 negative qualities

How do you feel about talking to large groups of people?

What are you most looking forward to working for the Disney Program?

What are three words your coworkers would use to describe you?

Are you a team player or prefer to work alone?
Who is your favorite Character? (How are you like them?)
What would you look for in an applicant?

What is a magical moment you have had at the Parks?

How do you feel about working in the heat?

Living!

Do you anticipate anything bad in housing?
Roles
What is the order of the roles you picked? (Why and how are you qualified?)

1.) Attractions
a. What would you do if the child was too short to ride a ride?i. I would let the child know that there were plenty of other great rides they could ride and suggest my favorites.
b. What would you say to an unhappy guest if lines where really long?
i. I would say that I was sorry but that this particular ride was worth the extra long wait and then suggest some shorter waiting rides for after the ride they were waiting in line for.

2.) Character Attendant-
a. Why don’t the characters talk?

i. I would say Mickey is shy when there are new people around but if you go hug him than he will show you all the love he has for you.

3.) Boutique Hostess-

a. What would you say to guest if the appointments were running late?i. I would say that I was sorry but that we had a fairy god child that had an emergency and needed her ball gown fixed right away, but in a few short moments we would be helping you get ready for your prince.
A. Do you have salon experience?
4.) Photo pass
A. Do you have any pervious experience doing professional camera work?
5.) Costuming
A. Do you mind not being in the publics eye and not interacting with guest?

Hopefully that gives you an idea of what you can study for. The questions that are highlighted are the ones I was asked or asked them. If you have any questions post them on facebook or youtube or right here!

Applications and Web Interview

Hey Hey Hey Lovelies!

Welcome to my REAL START to the Walt Disney World College Program. So on Wednesday the 19th I got an amazing text from Diana saying "APPS ARE UP" and from Patrick saying "Tara is coming!!!" Which means Jessica rushed home from her job, called Jarvis and got all freaked out! When I got home I sat down and locked my door. I sat in front of my computer and did the application. It is very basic information.

Name
Social Security Number
Number
Permanent Address
Temporary Address
School
Degree
Year Graduate
Last 3 Employers
Additional Qualification
Languages
Hobbies
Crime Questions
Role Checklist

And that is it for the Application! Than you go to do the Web Interview. Let me start by saying IT is NOT that Bad! The first set of questions you have 50 seconds to answer. The second set of questions you have 20 seconds to answer. It is a really easy group of questions like:

I am always on time to work (Strongly Agree)
People love to get my perspective on things (Strongly Agree)
I get nervous in new situations (Strongly Disagree)
I like to be the partier of the group (Agree)

Everything is rated from Strong Disagree to Strong Agree. I personally went almost all Strong's, a few regular and no neutrals. So hopefully you see the same board I did after the web interview saying I was a good candidate and that I could call the hot line. I called the hot line and scheduled my interview for Friday the 21st at 9:30 am. That story is in my next blog!

What to do!?! What to do!?!

Hello there my fellow CP-ers!

So I am having some difficulty deciding what order I should put my Top Three in. Here are the roles I prefer to do:

Attractions
Character Attendant
Boutique Hostess

Photo Pass Photographer
Costuming
Character Performer

So I am still up in the air about if I am going to do character auditions. I really want to do Kilimanjaro Safaris, so that means Attractions as number 1. But I'm not sure! Give me some feed back on the order. Give me some suggestions for Safari. Give me any feedback, pretty pretty please!

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Nineteen

My Least Favorite Pixar Film

My least favorite Pixar Film would have to be Wall-E. I like Wall-E himself, but I disagree with a lot of the underlying environmental issues that get stuck into the movie. Disney can do whatever they want and I will always love it but I think Wall-E just pushed so much of the environmental issues on me that I didn't enjoy it as much.

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Eighteen

My Favorite Pixar Film

I love Pixar Films! I think every single one of them is amazing but my favorite is Monsters Inc! I think it is one of those movies that I laughed at the entire time. Its kinda cool to think of all those scary monsters from my childhood being in a land of monsters and having their own little life. Oh and Boo is the cutest thing! I just want to put here in my pocket and take her everywhere with me!

My Least Favorite Disney Classic

I know some of you are going to get so mad at me for this but one of my least favorite classics is Fantasia. As a child I refused to watch it but now I enjoy the music. But if I had to pick one movie I didnt like it would be Fantasia. Sorry in advance!

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Sixteen

My Favorite Disney Classic Movie

Anyone else feel like these are very repetitive? I feel like I am drilling Beauty and the Beast into your souls. Honestly I am trying not to! But Beauty and the Beast is a classic, so of course its going to be in this category. But as usual I am going to pick another classic that I like. That would be The Little Mermaid. The music is amazing, the storyline is interesting, a lot of people can relate to the characters, and who wouldn't want to be a mermaid! I love Ariel and secretly wish my hair was as red as hers, alas I have dark auburn red hair. Boo Hoo! Just Kidding!

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Fifteen

My First Disney Movie I Ever Saw

I have mentioned this in blog number one and on my YouTube video blog... but the first Disney movie I ever saw was Beauty and the Beast. That is one of many reasons that Beauty and the Beast means so much to me!

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Fourteen

My Favorite Disney Kiss
I love the kiss scene whenever two people kiss. Troy and Gabriella. I love the two of them together. My favorite scene of them together is in Can I have This Dance?. I love the music, I love the connection, I love the romance. Why couldn't my high school experience have been like that!

My Disney Family and How Much I Heart Them

Disney Family-

I know that we have all become very close recently, and we have made some great memories. But as I was reminded so nicely by Nathan tonight, none of us have for sure gotten in yet. As much as I want to say we will all get it, it is unlikely. But regardless if we all get in or not, ALL of you are my family. I honestly pray every night that A.) I will get accepted and B.) so will everyone here. We all have one big and important thing in common. It has brought us together. We understand one another on a completely different level than some of our "real" friends do. Because of this, we will always be family. Even if a few of us do not make it to Florida... I promise I will be your friend even after we get our answers for acceptance. This is our Disney Family...

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Thirteen

My Least Favorite Disney Song

I cannot think of a Disney song that I do not like all too easily. The only one I can think of that is not my favorite is Human Again, from the expanded version of Beauty and the Beast. I personally do not like added songs in classic Disney movies. Beauty and the Beast is a classic movie with classic songs, so I always watch the original version without Human Again in it.

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Twelve

My Favorite Villain Song

This is an odd one for me to answer. I like villains but am why more interested into the romance characters. Villain songs are good but romance songs are better. I guess if I had to choose a favorite Disney villain song, I would go with Oogie Boogie Song from Nightmare Before Christmas. My favorite lyrics are "You're jokin', you're jokin'. I can't believe my eyes. You're joking me, you gotta be. This can't be the right guy, He's ancient, he's ugly. I don't know which is worse, I might just split a seam now, If I don't die laughing first..."

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Eleven

My Favorite Disney Love Song

This one is pretty easy for me. My favorite love movie relates to my favorite character and romance. It is Beauty and the Beast. I cant say anymore except I love it, and its a tale as old as time.

You are making me Blush (I got tagged!)

My Most Embarrassing Moment

So I see most of you have blogged about childhood experiences... however my bad experience happened last May. My best friend Jen was getting married to her man, Ken. I was the maid-of-honor. Jen let me pick my own dress, and I ended up wearing a black, tight, sexy, mermaid gown. It was beautiful. Plus I had a date that was tall and sweet and wanted to dance the night away. About an hour into dancing at the reception my friend stepped on my dress. No big deal. About five minutes later and older lady comes up to me and whispers into my ear "your dress is ripped." Now the girl who stepped on my dress, stepped on the front so I bent over to look. She immediately went behind me, I flipped around and asked her what she was doing. She said "Sweetie, its ripped all the way up your backside." At the same time I was being called up to do my maid-of-honor speech. Well I sent my date to tell my friend to hold on. The sweet old lady said go to the bathroom and I will get a sewing kit. 5 min later she sewed it all up and I did my speech. At the end of the night I was saying goodbye to my date and he said "I liked the day with you... and the free show"!!! Last time I ever talked to him, FYI. And that is Jessica Nicole's most embarrassing moment! TA-DA!
I will tag Diana and Emily Q. <3

(kill me for my embarrassing moment!)

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Ten

My Favorite Disney Song

Of all the amazing songs Disney has had in the past years, my ultimate favorite song has come from a more recent movie. It has the princess, it has the prince but it also has more reality in it. Two unlikely people meet, in an unlikely way, and over a few days find that they have feelings for each other. But when the time comes for them to prove it to one another an evil witch steps in. The song that I love happens at a masquerade ball and sings of two people being so close to a happily ever after. "So Close" from Disney's Enchanted.

My Favorite Original

I think I have wrote on this before but my favorite original is Mickey Mouse. If you want to know more about why, see day number five!

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Eight

My Favorite Disney Villain

This is SO easy for me! I love villains! I think every princess also has a villain side to her. The most interesting, and evil, villain is Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent is such a perfect villain. She proclaimed herself "Mistress of All Evil". She curses a young baby and puts a time limit on her life of sixteen. She has a green colored face and a horned headdress which is symbolic of her dark magic. Her pet is a nasty little raven. But by far the coolest thing about her is how she can turn into a dragon! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

The Thirty Day Disney Challenge- Day Number Seven

My Favorite Disney Sidekick

I have two answers to this. My first favorite Disney sidekick would be from the College Program group and that is Hillary. We are each others sidekick and we plan on ruling WDW. he he. Now on to my favorite sidekick from a Disney Movie... this one was so easy for me. My favorite sidekick is Genie from Aladdin! In the movie he has some of the best songs, in the Musical at California adventure he plays the funniest part, and he was originally played by one of my favorite actors. Genie has one of the coolest attributes every friend should have and that is humor. He makes me laugh, he makes me cry, he makes me want to have a genie.

The Thirty Day Challenge- Day Number Six

My Favorite Disney Animal

Well being that I am an animal lover, this one was actually really hard for me. But after some pondering and playing Call of Duty, I decided that my favorite Disney animal is actually a duo of animals and it would be Tod and Copper from Fox and the Hound. This movie always makes me cry but I love the storyline with my whole heart. Two unlikely friends, a dog and a fox, find comfort in one another and when separated they find their way back to one another. All the animal characters are good, including Big Mama, Vixey and Dinky. This is a classic Disney movie, that has the two cutest animals ever!

The Thirty Day Challenge- Day Number Five

My Favorite Disney Hero

First off, I am sorry for those of you who keep up with my blog and saw that I did not do a blog yesterday. Unfortunately my Internet was out all day due to weather. So today I will do two separate ones. The first one is my favorite hero. So for this one I am kinda going out on a whim and saying my favorite hero is Mickey Mouse. He was the hero in many old time movies like Fantasia, Steamboat Willie, Mickey and the Beanstalk, and The Three Musketeers. I am not sure what to say about why he is my favorite, because he is the original which makes him my favorite. He is the ultimate favorite for Disney, he is the mascot for Disney, he was the beginning of Disney... and that's why he is my favorite Disney Hero.

Until next time we can only Dream,
Jessica Nicole
